Diwali 2023 : दिवाली लक्ष्मी पूजन मुहूर्त 12th Nov 06:12:00 PM से 08:12:00 PM, 12th Nov’ 202

Diwali or Deepawali word derived from Deep means light and Ali mean ignite hence the word Diwali or Deepawali mean remove the darkness and ignorance of life and create light of wisdom and happiness.

Why Diwali is celebrated?

Diwali is celebrated not only in India but now across the globe and it is marked as a New Calendar Year of every businessman (s) especially in Gujarat, Rajasthan.

In the Old Era in Hindus, it was celebrated not only by the business community but also by every Hindus in Hindustan ( old name of modern India ). Later this new year gets celebrated in Chaitra Navratri ( Somewhere Between March – April of Christian Era).

Then came Muslim Era by the invasion of Mughals which ruled INDIA for 200-300 years and finally Christian Era come with the invasion of East India Company through which we marked the Calendar Year as January 1st as a New Year.

Why Diwali is called the festival of light?

Also, Diwali 2023 is celebrated with Laxmi Pooja with lots of enthusiasm and happiness because it considered as Festival of Light and to get the blessing of Lord of Wealth and Prosperity – Goddess Mahalaxmi.

Hence Diwali is the main festival of wealth and knowledge for Hindus. Therefore Diwali as a festival of light starts with Ashwin Krishna Paskya  Dwadasi– mean in the Vedic Hindu month of Ashwin on 12th Day – known as Wagh Baras and complete on Bhai Dooj – 2nd Day of New Year.

Another saying and believe that Diwali is celebrated with Ram Ravan War wherein Lord Rama defeated Ravana in battle and come to Ayodhya after 14 years of Vanwaas but it does not make clear to me as Ram Navami comes to Chaitra Navratri which come in March April.

What should not be done on Diwali?

Avoid going to Entertainment Hubs, Pubs ,Cinema , intoxications of drugs, alcohol , meat – non veg diet as it is festival of purity and divinity. One should not argue with Elders,Parents , Teacher and accept their real self and be with them on this auspicious movement.

Dhanteras is the 13th Day – the Lunar day of Ashwin month of Hindu Vedic Calendar wherein people worship Goddess Mahalaxmi/Laxmi Pooja and get bless with wealth and prosperity for entire fiscal year and life.

Why Dhanteras is celebrated?

Dhanteras as it is derived from the word – Dhan means wealth and Teras mean 13th Lunar day of Ashwin Month. Hence on this day, Lord of wealth & Prosperity was born during Samudra Manthan.

During Samundra Manthan not only Laxmi but also 18 other important Gems ( Ratnas ) derived from Samudra Manthan ( it is procedure wherein churning of the sea ) which produces 19 gems from the sea itself.

I will write one blog on Samudra Manthan very soon.

Hence on Dhanteras, one should worship Goddess Laxmi Pooja to bless with Gems of knowledge and get become goal orientation.

Because Dhanteras is celebrated with a Science of Goal Setting behind performing the ritual of Dhanteras Pooja. Hence before doing mantra chanting of Laxmi, one has to take Sankalp ( wherein one has to take water in right hand and recited Sankalp Mantra ) wherein s/he take wow that s/he will take a target of the whole year and complete it at any cost.

Also, the word “Laxmi” derived as Lakshya ( target ) and Me ( self). mean one who achieves the target is known as Laxmi or Shri/ Shree. Hence we see in Hindu – in older days and even today people used to say Shriman Rajiv ( whereas Shriman means one who achieve the target and name fame to be deserving candidature for wealth – Laxmi ).

Many Medico/Medical Practitioner /Doctors and Surgeon especially Ayurvedic Practitioners perform Dhanvantri Pooja ( Lord Dhanvantri is said to be FATHER OF MEDICINE ) and it is also marked as Birthday of Lord Dhanvantri. One should also pray and recite Dhanvantri Mantra – 1 Mala ( given below)
