Navdurga : Shailputri Mata – 1st Divine Manifestation of  Goddess Durga

Shailputri also was known as Shailputri Mata among NINE Swaroopaa of Lord Durga – Nav Durga.

It is 1st among Nav-Durga. In Hindus, Navratri is celebrated not only in India, especially in West Bengal region and Gujrat but also across the Globe.

Navrati 2018 has started on 10th October 2018, it is better known as Shardiya Navratri because according to the old calendar of Sanatan Dharma /Hindu Shastra – The New Year was started on Shardiya Navratri later it celebrated in Chaitra Navratri in March – April.

NavDurga is the 9 Energy Centres of Human Being, it is also depicted its 9 planetary system which is controlling the whole Universe and its activities.Hence we can find Navarna Mantra which has 9 Alphabet of Sanskrit – Thus depict 9 energy centres of the Universe.

Shailputri is derived from word Shailraj – The King of Himalayan who is better known as Hemraja, Hempurtri.

Shailputri Mata is the reincarnation of Lord Sati who was the daughter of King Daksha Prajapati in the previous life.

First Day of Shardiya Navratri is considered as Pratipada.

The deity of this day is known as Shailputri.

Colour: Yellow colour is assigned to Shailputri Mata as yellow colour is considered as Color of Divine Knowledge and Wisdom.

Vehicle – Bullock is the vehicle of Shailputri which show tolerance and taking responsibilities to our family, friends and society.

Husband: Lord Shiva is the husband of Shailputri Mata as it is swaroopa of Lord Parvati itself.

Arms: Shailputri is shown with her Arm as Trident ( Trishul ) which is again manifest 3 Energy centre of Universe – Brahma ( Creation), Vishnu ( Administration ) and Shiva ( Destruction )

Food: Lord Durga is offered as Yellow Color Food today as Sheera or Halwa which create an inner sense of contentment to its worshipper(s).

Abode: Devi Dham is said to the Abode of Shailputri.

Mantra: “Om Devi Shailputrey Namah”.

Temple: Marhia Ghat Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and another temple of Shailputri is Hervade Mahalaxmi Temple at Hervade Village, Near to Mumbai Ahmedabad Highway, Vasai Village, Village, Maharashtra.
